Air Serbia donates more than 700 clothing items to “Sremčica” Institution for Children and Youth

14 April 2025

Air Serbia has donated more than 700 items of men's clothing to the “Sremčica” Institution for Children and Youth as part of its corporate social responsibility activities. These are uniforms from the Serbian national airline's previous collection, which will now be available to the institution's users for everyday use.

“The tradition our company upholds obliges us to remain committed to the community in which we operate. In line with these values, we strive to support those who need it most. Recently, to mark International Women’s Day, we collaborated with the humanitarian organisation “Dečje srce” to create and gift all our female colleagues at Air Serbia with unique mugs carrying a powerful message. At the same time, we donated over 500 pieces of former flight and cabin crew uniforms to the organisation “Dressed for Success”, intended for women from various social and economic backgrounds. Today, we have the pleasure of donating the male parts of those uniforms to the Institution for Children and Youth “Sremčica”, once again sending a message of solidarity and support to people with developmental disabilities. We firmly believe that everyone deserves equal opportunities and understanding, and that inclusion and equality are values we should all strive for,” said Jiří Marek, CEO of Air Serbia.

“This deeply humane donation represents more than just the repurposing of clothing – it is an act of recognition and acceptance. For the residents of Sremčica, this gesture serves as confirmation that they are seen, supported and valued as part of a society that does not forget them, but actively works towards their integration and empowerment,” said Dr Marina Vidojević, director of the institution.

The “Sremčica” Institution for Children and Youth began operating and caring for children and young people with developmental disabilities as far back as 1969. Thanks to innovative methods and a multidisciplinary approach, today the institution stands as a unique example of a modern residential care system and good practice. Through dedicated work and commitment, all employees strive to provide the beneficiaries with the highest possible level of service and the best possible living conditions.
