Air Serbia links Belgrade and Hamburg
On 15 May 2023, Air Serbia’s flight JU394 at 5:30 pm marked the launching of direct flights between Belgrade and Hamburg. The Serbian national airline will fly to Germany’s second biggest city three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
There was a welcoming ceremony for Air Serbia’s inaugural flight at Hamburg Airport, located 8.5 km north of the city centre.
“Hamburg is our ninth destination in Germany, along with Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hanover, Nuremberg and Stuttgart from Belgrade, as well as Cologne and Frankfurt-Hahn to which we fly from Niš Constantine the Great airport. We believe that our new, scheduled flights between Belgrade and Hamburg will be just as interesting to those who travel to the northern German city on business, as well as those who want to visit it as tourists. There are many reasons to visit Hamburg, so you should book your ticket today,” said Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
Hamburg is a diverse and inspirational city, with an impressive naval charm. Visit Hamburg’s spectacular musicals, plays and theatres, or organise a picnic in one of its parks. Make sure you take a walk along the river Elba, where the concert hall, Elbphilharmonie, is located, one of the city’s most well-known landmarks. Throughout history, Hamburg has been known as a centre of classical music and is the birthplace of great composers, such as Brahms and Mendelson, and the legendary Beatles started their career there.
The national airline offers good connectivity out of Hamburg, via Belgrade, to other destinations in its network, such as Thessaloniki, Athens, Istanbul, Bucharest, Sofia, Tirana, Skopje, Sarajevo, Rome, Malta, Split, Dubrovnik, Tivat, Podgorica, Vienna, Pula, Rijeka, Zadar, Florence, Catania, Naples, Palermo and Larnaca.
