Air Serbia continues charter flights after October
Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, operated a total of 224 charter flights to destinations in Turkey and Egypt from 5 July, when the first flight to Antalya was completed, to this day. So far, 144 flights toward Turkey were carried out, alongside of 80 flights to popular destinations on the Red Sea. Charter flights to Egypt were established on 4 August, when an Air Serbia aircraft flew to Hurghada. Currently, the plan is to operate flights to the Turkish resorts in the Mediterranean until the end of October, while the flights to Egypt will be operated even after the end of October, due to the longer season.
"Having in mind the coronavirus pandemic and predictions that left no room for optimism at the beginning of the summer season, we can say that we are fairly satisfied with the results achieved after all. We owe great gratitude to our friends, tourism agencies, who helped and assisted us in organizing charter flights and allowing our passengers to travel to their well-deserved vacations even in these trying times," said Boško Rupić, Head of Trade and Corporate Sales, Air Serbia.
Rupić added that "we often hear people using hashtag we are in this together, and our activity with our partners clearly demonstrate that joint close cooperation can bring value firstly to our customers and also to entire hospitality industry."
The national airline had so far operated 124 flights to Antalya and 20 flights to Bodrum, while out of the total number of flights to Egypt, 76 were to Hurghada, and four to Sharm El-Sheikh. The flights are operated using A319 and Boeing B737 aircraft with 144 seats each.]
