Air Serbia direct flights to Heraklion
Today, on 31 May 2023, with flight JU750 at 11:55 am, Air Serbia launched a seasonal service between Belgrade and Heraklion. The national airline will be operating flights to the capital of Crete four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Air Serbia's Airbus A320 was welcomed with a ceremony at Heraklion Airport, located five kilometres east of the city centre.
“Heraklion is the crossroads of three continents and one of the most vibrant places in the Mediterranean, and as of today, a new destination in our growing network. With the introduction of a service to this city, we have expanded Air Serbia’s presence in the friendly country of Greece. During June, we will start operating flights to Rhodes, Corfu, and Chania, enabling passengers to reach these popular leisure destinations quickly and easily,” said Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
To explore Heraklion properly, we suggest starting your tour with a visit to the old port, where a shipyard from the Middle Ages still stands today. From there, by walking down August Street, you can reach the Cathedral of St. Titus, built back in 1872. Make sure you do not miss the Archaeological Museum, one of the most important museums in Greece, where unique treasures of the Minoan civilization are stored. Not far from Heraklion is the ancient city of Knossos, where, according to legend, the Minotaur lived.
The Serbian national airline offers good connectivity from Heraklion, via Belgrade, to Amsterdam, Berlin, Bologna, Zurich, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Paris, Prague, Rome, Venice, Ljubljana, Zagreb, Podgorica, and many other cities.
