Air Serbia carried 136 percent more passengers in January 2023 than in January 2022
In January 2023, Air Serbia carried 219,216 passengers, which is an increase of 136 percent over the same month in 2022, or 20.4 percent more than in January 2020. This is the best result of the Serbian national airline for January since it began operating under the name of Air Serbia.
“Recently we posted the operating results of our company for 2022, which showed significant growth. The beginning of the new calendar year brought new records. During January 2023, we carried 126,513 passengers more than in the same month of 2022 and operated 2,756 flights, which is a 68 percent increase compared to January 2022. This is the seventh month in a row in which we have been breaking our records. We have reasons to believe that this trend would continue,” says Boško Rupić, General Manager Commercial and Strategy, Air Serbia.
In January 2023, when it comes to Western Europe, the most popular destinations in the Air Serbia network were Zurich, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna, London, and Berlin. In the region, the top destinations were Podgorica and Tivat, and there was also major interest for Istanbul, as well as for the long-haul flights to New York and Tianjin, which the national airline has been flying to since 9 December 2022.
