Air Serbia announces new route to Banja Luka

Air Serbia, the national airline of Serbia, operated its inaugural flight from Belgrade to Banja Luka marking the start of daily non-stop services to the city.

For this special occasion, the inaugural flight was operated by Air Serbia’s Airbus A319, which was greeted by a full water cannon salute at Banja Luka Airport.

The Banja Luka flights offer excellent connections through Air Serbia's Belgrade hub at Nikola Tesla Airport to numerous key destinations across Europe, including Paris, Amsterdam, Prague, Rome, Milan, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Berlin, Zurich, Brussels, and Moscow. In the near future, the European flights from Belgrade will be operated by an Airbus A319.

The schedule has also been structured to provide good inbound connection times for passengers from Australia to the Republika Srpska.

Dane Kondić, Air Serbia Chief Executive Officer, said: "The relationship between Banja Luka and Belgrade is important and it is very pleasing that we are now able to offer a daily service connecting the two cities, and supporting tourism and business. But more importantly, the new service provides two-way connectivity over Belgrade between Banja Luka, mainland Europe and key global destinations, which are home to a vast Serbian diaspora." 

Demand for the new Air Serbia Banja Luka service is forecast to be solid, with forward bookings building strongly following the announcement of flights in August this year.

The A319 aircraft, which flew to Banja Luka for the inaugural flight, is the first of eight Airbus A319s and two A320s which will be leased by Air Serbia, to rapidly modernise its fleet.

The new aircraft are configured to seat eight guests in a brand new Business Class cabin and 120 in Economy. In line with the new livery and modern aircraft, the on-board service proposition has also been refreshed with new menu options, a complimentary bar service and improved inflight entertainment offering more choices for guests flying with Air Serbia.
