Air Serbia to increase flights to Stuttgart to daily

28 January 2014

Air Serbia today operated an A319 aircraft to Stuttgart, the capital of the state of Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany, for the first time.

This special occasion also marked the increase of services to the southern German city from five flights per week to a daily schedule starting from 30 March 2014.

The Belgrade-Stuttgart route was initially launched in the 1970s, to service the Yugoslav diaspora working abroad. Today the route not only serves the Serbian diaspora in Stuttgart and other cities of Baden-Württemberg but also supports the growing number of business and leisure passengers traveling between Germany and Serbia.

The additional services will also offer excellent connections through Air Serbia's Belgrade hub at Nikola Tesla Airport to many important destinations, including Thessaloniki, Athens, Tivat, Sarajevo, Tel Aviv, Larnaca, Skopje, Varna, Beirut and Moscow.

Dane Kondić, Air Serbia's Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are delighted to operate our state-of-the-art A319 aircraft on the Stuttgart route. Germany has one of the largest Serbian diaspora in Europe and we are confident that our new daily services will offer them more convenient travel options. The additional services will also strengthen trade and commercial ties between Germany and Serbia, and both business and leisure travellers will now be able to take advantage of our convenient daily flights. More importantly, the new services provide two-way connectivity over Belgrade between Stuttgart, mainland Europe and key global destinations on our expanding network."

Plans are underway to operate the new A319 aircraft on the Stuttgart route in the near future as Air Serbia rapidly modernises its fleet.

Air Serbia's new A319 aircraft are configured to seat eight guests in its brand new Business Class Cabin and 120 in Economy Class. In line with the new livery and modern aircraft, the on-board service proposition has also been refreshed with new menu options, a complimentary bar service and improved inflight entertainment offering more choices for guests flying with Air Serbia.

The airline currently serves 29 Euro-Mediterranean destinations and offers long-haul and international destinations in Asia, Australia and the Americas through its code share partners and shareholding equity partner, Etihad Airways.
