  • 40 direct destinations in 29 countries - five seasonal destinations reintroduced
  • 33 destinations served with a daily or greater frequency
  • Total capacity increased by 9.3% compared to summer 2014

Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, announced today its summer flight schedule, with which air travellers can look forward to increased capacity and improved flight connections this summer. The seasonal flying programme will be launched on Sunday, March 29 and will remain in effect until October 24, 2015, reaching peak frequencies between June 15 and September 15.

The airline will operate an average of 724 weekly departures this summer season compared to 662 during last year's summer schedule, offering an average of 81,000 seats per week, nearly 5,700 seats more than last summer season. In total, Available Seat Kilometers will increase by 9.3 per cent to 2.3 billion.

Air Serbia will fly directly to a total of 40 destinations in 29 countries, with one new destination compared to last summer, as it now operates flights to Zagreb, introduced in December 2014. In addition, five seasonal destinations will be reintroduced this summer, including Dubrovnik, Malta, Pula, Split and Varna.

Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer Air Serbia, said: "The 2015 summer schedule will see further expansion from Air Serbia, with our forthcoming summer flying programme increasing our ASKs by slightly more than 9 per cent over last year. The highlights of our the new flight schedule are the increased frequencies to our key destinations, the five seasonal destinations that we are reintroducing this summer and Zagreb, which is in our summer schedule for the first time. Importantly, our guests can also look forward to added depth and significantly improved connections across our network as we adjust schedules and add additional frequencies on key routes".

During the summer season, 33 destinations will be served with a daily or greater frequency, while 11 destinations will be served with a twice-daily frequency or greater.

Eight destinations will see increased frequencies, including Amsterdam, Beirut, Brussels, Ljubljana, Podgorica, Prague, Tirana and Tivat. The frequency to Amsterdam will become daily for better connectivity with KLM's network, while Tel Aviv will see a change in the schedule to provide more options for passengers to and from this destination.

Air Serbia has recently expanded its global virtual network through codeshare partnerships which it now enjoys with a total of ten airlines, including Adria Airways, Aeroflot, airberlin, Air France, Alitalia, Bulgaria Air, Etihad Airways, Etihad Regional, KLM and Tarom, serving 29 additional destinations.

Moreover, the airline will maintain a significant number of charter flights during the summer months through its dedicated brand Aviolet, operated by a fleet of four Boeing 737 aircraft.
