Air Serbia continues rollout of new check-in system at Belgrade Airport
Air Serbia has marked a second successful day of SabreSonic check-in operations, after the system went online earlier this week at Belgrade Nikola Tesla International Airport.
Wednesday was the first full day of SabreSonic-only check-in at the airport, and the airline handled a total of 33 flights using the new platform, checking-in more than 1,800 passengers.
The first flight to use the check-in system on Wednesday was Air Serbia’s JU410 flight from Belgrade to Stockholm and check-in operated normally. The flight departed on time at 6.45am.
The last flight of the day to use SabreSonic check-in was Air Serbia’s JU656 flight from Belgrade to Moscow, and the flight departed at 23:45.
The airline expects full systems migration to be fully complete by close of business today, 27 February, following which regular two hour check-in procedure for Air Serbia guests will come into force again.
Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: "The last few days have gone extremely smoothly, and is a direct result of the intensive training hundreds of Air Serbia staff have gone through in the run up to this systems upgrade. Our team has also been fully supported on the ground by more than forty Etihad Airways and Sabre experts who have flown in from around the world.
"The systems upgrade is ultimately about enhancing the Air Serbia customer experience at Belgrade International Airport, streamlining how we look after our guests, and delivering functionality for check-in which until now wasn’t possible."
In the meantime, the airline continues to advise intending Air Serbia travellers to note the following for the last day of the technology cutover on 27 February.
- Arrive at Belgrade airport at least three hours ahead of the scheduled flight departure time
- Bring a printed copy of their booking confirmation and/or travel itinerary with them to the airport
Air Serbia guests will receive complimentary refreshments on both days, and the airline looks forward to ensuring it is business as usual for all travellers.
