Air Serbia commences daily Ljubljana flights
Air Serbia, the national airline of Serbia, today launched daily non-stop flights to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
To celebrate the first scheduled Air Serbia flight into Jože Pučnik International Airport since 2010, the inaugural flight was operated by an Airbus A319.
Ljubljana, which has an estimated population of 260,000, is an administrative, cultural and economic centre of the country. Surrounded by beautiful Alpine scenery, Ljubljana is also an ideal destination for leisure travellers, offering easy access to nearby golf courses and endless cultural events.
The Ljubljana flights offer excellent connections through Air Serbia's Belgrade hub at Nikola Tesla Airport to many important destinations across Europe, including Stockholm, Rome, Vienna, Copenhagen, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Prague, Stuttgart, Bucharest, Zurich, Milan and Berlin.
Dane Kondić, Air Serbia Chief Executive Officer, said: "We are delighted to announce the addition of Ljubljana to the Air Serbia flight network, a move that will create significant benefits for our passengers, as well as the economies of Serbia and Slovenia. While we believe that there is great potential for tourism flows between the two countries with this new route, business and leisure travellers alike can now take advantage of convenient daily flights. More importantly, the new service provides two-way connectivity over Belgrade between Ljubljana, mainland Europe and key global destinations."
There has been strong demand for the new Air Serbia Ljubljana flights, with a good mix of point-to-point bookings as well as through-traffic that will see people travelling beyond the Belgrade hub.
The Belgrade to Ljubljana service will be operated by ATR72 aircraft, although many connecting passengers will experience the A319 aircraft beyond Belgrade to other destinations.
