Air Serbia announced as partner of the Belgrade Marathon

Air Serbia will partner with the Belgrade Marathon which will take place in the Serbian capital tomorrow, Saturday 16 April.

The national airline of the Republic of Serbia will be the Official Airline Partner of the 29th edition of the annual event, one of the biggest sporting occasions in the region.

The agreement builds upon a partnership which dates back more than 20 years between the national airline and Belgrade's major running event.

Air Serbia will be represented throughout the event by staff and their family and friends, who will be running and spectating wearing Air Serbia caps.

Dane Kondić, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: “The Belgrade Marathon is one of the best known marathons on the athletics calendar, positioning Serbia’s capital city as a leading sporting destination and Air Serbia is delighted to be a part of the event. The race brings together domestic and international professional runners and amateurs alike to join in a uniquely memorable experience.

“As the national airline, we see our partnership with the Belgrade Marathon, an event that reflects the optimistic spirit and atmosphere of our capital, as a natural fit for our goals of promoting Serbia and supporting its inbound tourism, trade and broader economic development.

“Furthermore, we are pleased to continue the long-standing relationship with Belgrade Marathon and look forward to building on it further in the years to come.”

This year's Belgrade Marathon will start from its traditional position in the city centre, at the junction of Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra and Resavska street, next to the Air Serbia retail shop. From the start to the finish line, Air Serbia's cabin crew will be cheering on the 6,000 participants of the half-marathon and marathon races. More than 20,000 runners are expected to take part in the 5km Fun Run.

Air Serbia will honour the winners of various race categories by supporting the award ceremonies. The Air Serbia logo will also be visible on the start and finish gates and other key locations along the total 42km route of the marathon.
