Air Serbia introduces new menus inspired by international cuisine
Air Serbia, the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, is set to enhance its inflight dining experience with the introduction of new menus from today.
The menus have been designed by Zoran Mišković, Head Chef at Air Serbia Catering, and feature a selection of new entrées, mains and desserts that have been inspired by a modern take on international cuisine.
Highlights of the meal selections include a main course of lamb cutlets served with pistachio crisps, a main course of duck served with a wild berry sauce, baked root vegetables and dark acacia honey, as well as desserts in the form of a chocolate cake or fruit tartelette. These new à la carte options can be ordered in Business Class on flights to or from New York.
Economy Class guests can also look forward to an enhanced choice of meals, such as a beef casserole paired with a coleslaw salad and followed by a sweet semolina cake with raspberry sauce. The meals are prepared by a skilled team of chefs at Air Serbia Catering who use high-quality ingredients sourced from domestic suppliers in Serbia.
Dane Kondic, Chief Executive Officer of Air Serbia, said: "We’re delighted to introduce new menus at Air Serbia, which have been carefully prepared to reflect the tastes and flavours of modern international cuisine as well as cater to the preferences of our guests.
"Serbia has a rich wine-making tradition and we have worked closely with the Serbian Sommelier Association to ensure Air Serbia offers a well-stocked cellar of prize winning wines that pair well with our new recipes.
"We believe that dining at 30,000 feet should be a memorable culinary experience and as such are always listening to our guests and working on ways to enhance our dining service."
Complementing its inflight menus, Air Serbia offers travellers a wide selection of beverages that includes Serbian wines selected by an in-house team in close consultation with the Serbian Sommelier Association. Guests can also try five types of rakia, a fruit brandy provided exclusively by Rakia Bar, which are plum, quince, apricot, William’s pear and honey.
The wine cellar on board Air Serbia flights features the prize-winning Cabernet Sauvignon Réserve from the Radovanović winery, a premium dry red wine which was awarded a gold medal at the 2015 Emozioni dal Mondo wine competition in Italy, as well as the internationally-acclaimed Trijumf Selection white wine by the Aleksandrović winery, which won a silver medal in last year’s Decanter World Wine Awards in London.
