Whether you come as a tourist or on business, there is something for you in Serbia. Here, we can show you only a small part of what our beautiful country has to offer, but we invite you to use your stay to get to know Serbia better. Whoever comes once, always returns. Some choose to land at the largest airport, Belgrade's Nikola Tesla, but there are also those who prefer our two smaller international airports - Constantine the Great in Niš or Morava near Kraljevo.

The capital of Serbia is a lively and modern metropolis where rich history and the fast rhythms of modern life intertwine. Belgrade tops all lists of places to visit in Serbia, but to understand why, you have to spend at least one day in the city at the confluence of the Sava and the Danube.

Belgrade is one of the oldest cities in Europe. One witness to the city's rich history is the Kalemegdan fortress, which has been guarding it since the time of the Celts. Today, it is a favourite place for tourists, and the residents of Belgrade themselves come there when they need a quiet place to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, to think or take a walk.

If you want to feel the spirit of old Belgrade, be sure to visit Skadarlija. The bohemian quarter with cobblestones and taverns is an ideal place to socialize with a traditional Serbian lunch or dinner with music.

The Nikola Tesla Museum is a must-see in Belgrade. With more than 150,000 visitors a year, it is one of the most visited museums in town. Here you will see the legacy of the famous inventor of Serbian origin. Besides the many scientific works, drawings, schemes and letters, the Museum also houses Nikola Tesla's personal items.

Just a few minutes' easy walk from the museum, there is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. The St. Sava Cathedral with its white facade and golden cross dominates the city skyline, you can spot it from almost everywhere in the city.

Zemun, once an Austro-Hungarian town, and today a part of Belgrade “over the river”, will tell you its own authentic story. This is an ideal place for walks along the river, along the long quay which is adorned with restaurants and cafes. The variety is great, it's yours to choose. When you are already in Zemun, you must not miss a visit to the Gardoš Tower, which offers a wonderful view of the Danube and the old part of Belgrade.

Novi Sad is the second largest city in Serbia, completely different in character from the capital.

In the very heart of the city lies the centre of urban life, Trg Slobode or Freedom Square. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops, the square is the perfect place to relax, socialize and listen to the rhythm of Novi Sad and its residents.

However, the most famous symbol of the city is the Petrovaradin fortress, a never-conquered military fortification from the 18th century that dominates the banks of the Danube. Every summer, Petrovaradin hosts one of the biggest musical events in Europe, the EXIT festival. Thousands of visitors from all over Serbia and the world come to Petrovaradin to enjoy the music, but also the unusual atmosphere of the fortress, under the starry sky.

There is no better way to discover the authentic spirit of Vojvodina than through its wine routes. Fruška Gora is a national park and a ridge of hills through the plains of Srem. On its fertile soil there are many vineyards, and some of the best wines in the region are made from the grapes grown here.

Also on Fruška Gora you can visit many captivating Orthodox monasteries, which are still centres of spirituality, but also of art and education.

Let the wine road from Fruška Gora lead you to the slopes of the Vršac hills and the Banat vineyards. Here, not far from the town of Vršac, there are some of the most famous wine cellars that date back to the 19th century and whose wines will definitely not disappoint you.

Subotica is a town from a fairy tale. Its luxurious architecture in Secession style known as art nouveau displays a kaleidoscope of colours and shapes that turns the streets into a work of art. The buildings of the City Hall, the Synagogue, the Raichle Palace and the National Theatre make the city an open-air gallery.

Just a few minutes' drive from Subotica is Lake Palić, an oasis of peace and relaxation. This popular picnic spot offers the possibility of several hours of leisurely walks through lush parks by the lake. When you get tired, you can enjoy the traditional flavours offered by surrounding restaurants, while the youngest visitors will enjoy visiting the zoo.

Kopaonik is the most visited ski centre in Serbia. For most of the year it offers the opportunity to enjoy the snow, whether you ski or prefer less extreme sports such as sledging. This national park is equally alluring in winter and summer, and offers a wide range of hotels, spas, restaurants, cafes and bars, open late into the night.

Slightly lower than Kopaonik, but equally attractive to tourists is the mountain Zlatibor. It is a favourite place for families with children to spend the winter, but a large number of mountain lovers also visit it in summer, as it offers many opportunities for an active vacation. Located in the heart of western Serbia, Zlatibor is easily accessible, so don't miss the opportunity to visit. You will be delighted by the hospitality of the Zlatibor hosts, and the selection of various authentic specialities. Rarely does anyone return from Zlatibor empty-handed, and we suggest that you try and take home a home-made sweet made from wild strawberries, old Zlatibor cheese or meadow honey.

A new cable car was recently launched in Zlatibor, connecting the town centre with the Tornik ski resort. It is the longest panoramic gondola in the world, the ride takes about 25 minutes each way and is a real pleasure for lovers of natural beauty.

Tara National Park hides beautiful landscapes, from dense forests to breathtaking viewpoints where you can admire the beauty of the Drina River. It is the home of an endemic species of pine, Pančić's spruce, which is the pride of Tara and the whole of Serbia. Adrenaline lovers often visit this mountain because it offers opportunities for adventures like paragliding, zip-lining or rafting on the Tara River.
